How to get ideas anytime, anywhere
Prasna*, it is a business app addressing the ambitious professional wanting to make a mark.
He believes he can make a difference by the quality of his ideas. Therefore he is constantly, actively looking for ideas big and small to seize opportunities, solve problems, crack challenges.
My app is designed to help such people.
“What does the app really do?”
The app is a simple one, quite easy to use. It shows you how to define your problem sharply and seek ideas for it, in a variety of ways.
“How does it do it?”
First you capture your own ideas.
Then use six different idea generation tickles.
The first two tickles are what we use most of the time.
Call a friend or search the web.
The next 4 tickles push us to think of different ways to solve the problem.
Quotes (inspiring quotes)
Jolts (Provocative questions)
There are 100 different tickles in each option. They appear randomly.
If you do not like the tickle you can change it. You have 99 other tickles.
When you use these you are likely to get completely different ideas.
You can either record your idea, or key it in.
You can post your problem on social networks.
You can share your ideas with colleagues/friends through email
“What is a tickle?”
A tickle is like a gentle nudge. It nudges you to look at the issue in different ways.
“What is unique about this app?”
There are short video tutorials in the app itself, so you can see how to use each tickle.
In the example shown in the app (How to retain talented people) we have 40 different ideas which may not have occurred in the normal course.
It is quite simple & friendly.
“Your example is an HR example. How can one single app give ideas for all sorts of challenges?”
The app does not give you any idea. It just helps you to look at the problem in different ways and generate your own ideas. It is like a software for the mind. You can use the software for any problem from any functional area. It could be marketing, sales, manufacturing, logistics, finance – whatever. You just need to define the problem sharply.”
“What are the key benefits of the app?”
There are several benefits but the top three benefits are:
It helps you generate a range of different ideas for one problem. We can rarely do this on our own
It helps you bust frustrating mental blocks.
It is truly simple and easy to use.
There is nothing quite like this in the app store.
“How much does this cost?”
The app is priced at US $ 3.999 (Rs 250). 5% of the sales proceeds goes to building creative thinking and problem solving skills amongst children.
“What happens after they generate ideas?”
The users take the ideas forward into execution. I am available just in case some one needs some help.
“What will make you say this app is successful?”
When people start pushing me to introduce it in an Android platform too!
*Prasna Rao is an unusual friend. He appears every time I start writing something. He is almost always there when I am writing my blog. He asks questions that are razor sharp and often makes me uncomfortable. He is relentless till I answer his questions in simple, clear terms. You might find that he is most of the times asking questions that you want to. Therefore he is on your side, while he is putting me in the dock. I call him my Uninvited Coach
